Maintaining a rigorous training regimen in bedbug detection for our K 9s, Tara and Arthur, is paramount to their success. This involves daily scent recognition exercises, where the dogs are exposed to the scent of live bed bugs and viable eggs, reinforcing their ability to identify these specific odors. The training also includes complex search scenarios that mimic real-world conditions, challenging the dogs to locate the scent in various environments and hiding spots. Regular assessments via a local dog trainer are conducted to gauge their proficiency and address any areas of improvement. This rigorous and consistent training ensures that our K9s remain at the forefront of bed bug detection, ready to tackle any bed bug inspection with accuracy and efficiency.
